Henderson Settlement is a mission of the South Kentucky Conference of the UMC whose purpose is to meet the basic needs of people in southeast Kentucky and northeast Tennessee. T aking part in Work Camp at Henderson Settlement—White Oak—is a chance for students to experience a different culture and its people, to accept the community people as they are, and to minister to them within the context of their culture and needs. We will help out with home repairs and pay for the materials ourselves for the projects we select.This trip is available for all youth who are rising 8th grade and older and adults. There are only a limited number of spaces available so please register now.
Cost? $275.00 per person plus spending money to include food while travelling. (Bring a sandwich to save money!) $100 deposit due now, balance due May 15. This covers all lodging, meals from Sunday supper to Saturday breakfast, supervision, programmed evening activities, transportation, and part of our supplies. Arrival time at White Oak, TN is between 2:00pm and 6:00pm 7/18, with orientation at 7:00pm Sunday evening. Departure time TBA.
